Shalom, my dear friends. Sit down, pour yourself some tea โ today was an interesting day. 1032 events in 24 hours. That's a lot, but not a record. Back in December 2017, we'd see three thousand, and we survived โ still drinking tea.
๐ฐ What Happened with BTC
Bitcoin was tossed around like a boat in a storm yesterday. First, $125 billion in sells with a buy ratio of only 14%. That's when for every $100 in sales, there's only $14 in buys. Institutions were exiting.
And then โ boom! โ $107 billion in buys with an 88% buy ratio. Then another $102 billion. And another $84 billion. Someone big was selling first, then changed their mind. Or maybe different players entirely.
I saw something like this in March 2020, when everything was crashing because of COVID, and then reversed in a single day. You know what? I don't know what it means. And anyone who says they do โ they're lying.
โก Arbitrage: IMX at 37%!
IMX showed a 37.93% spread between exchanges. Thirty-seven percent! That's not a typo. Someone on one exchange was selling cheap while others were buying expensive.
ENS โ 36% spread. Also serious.
ROSE โ 34%. APT โ almost 34%.
My neighbor Arkady asks: 'Sol, why don't you arbitrage yourself?' I tell him: 'Arkady, to arbitrage these spreads you need: a) seconds to execute, b) money on both exchanges, c) confidence withdrawals won't get stuck for three days.'
In 2019, I tried arbitraging XRP between Binance and some Korean exchange. The spread was 15%. You know how much I made? 3%. Because by the time I transferred, withdrew, converted... I spent 50% worth of nerves.
๐ Volume Anomalies
GOOGL โ 181x volume. Yes, that Google (tokenized stocks). One hundred eighty-one times the normal volume. Someone really wanted to buy or sell Google in crypto. Strange people, but their money, their business.
WLD (Worldcoin) โ 163x. That project where they scan eyes? Oy vey. I tell my nephew Misha: 'Misha, don't let anyone scan your eyes for crypto.' He laughs. Youth...
- MASK: 132x volume
- SENT: 131x volume
- SOMI: 144x volume
๐ Pumps and Dumps
BTR showed +59% โ I don't know what this project is, but the growth was insane. Then it dropped 28.7%. See how it goes? First +59%, then -28%. Roller coaster.
- PURR: +24%
- BGSC: +24%
- ZKP: +21%
- BNKR: +19%
On the dump side, BTR led โ minus 28.7%. DMC dropped 24.5%. FHE โ minus 19.6%. That hurts. Someone lost money.
My advice to those in the red: don't sell in panic. Either the token recovers, or it's already too late. Worst thing is selling at the bottom and watching it rise after.
๐ Day Statistics
179 arbitrage opportunities. 496 imbalance signals. 283 volume anomalies. 36 pumps and 31 dumps. Almost balanced โ the market doesn't know where to go.
๐ฏ What Does This All Mean
Look, I've been trading since 2013. Seen 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021. Days like yesterday โ it's not the end of the world or the start of a bull run. It's just volatility. Big money is moving.
Don't chase the train, the next one comes in an hour.
โ Uncle Sol
๐ What to Watch
- BTC volumes โ if they keep swinging in hundreds of billions, big players are up to something
- Arbitrage spreads โ if they stay high, the market is inefficient
- BTR โ showed both +59% and -28% in one day. That's a casino, not investing
My nephew Misha asks: 'Uncle Sol, can you get rich on crypto?' I say: 'You can. But most get poor. The difference between the two is patience and discipline.' He asks: 'How do you learn patience?' I say: 'Lose money a couple times. You'll learn.' Drink your tea, my friends. The market will wait. With warmth, Your Uncle Sol.
