Asian Session Wrap: BTC Whales Load Up $28M Long While ETH Gets Sold — July 30, 2026

Bitcoin saw one-sided $28.4M buy pressure on Hyperliquid and Bitunix overnight while Ethereum was quietly distributed, ESP ripped 20%+ across five separate listings, EPIC/EPICSWAP unwound just as hard, and net whale flow tilted bullish 4-to-1 into the US open.

☀️ Good Morning from Asia

While America slept, Bitcoin whales quietly built one of the more lopsided positioning books we've seen in a while. Between 00:00 and 08:00 UTC, BTC order flow on Hyperliquid and Bitunix ran 90.3% buy-side on $28.4M of volume, with sell volume rounding down to essentially nothing. That's not a chop-fest — that's conviction. Somebody, or several somebodies, wanted BTC exposure badly enough to pay up for it across the entire Asian session.

The altcoin tape was noisier and messier. ESP staged a five-headed rally, printing gains of 23.6% on Bitget, 22.7% on Bitget again, 22.0% across Bybit and Binance Futures, 21.8% on Exchange28's ESPSWAP perp, and another 21.8% on Bybit — five separate green candles on the same ticker family inside eight hours. That kind of repeated, cross-venue strength usually means either a genuine catalyst or a coordinated push, and worth flagging either way. On the flip side, EPIC and its EPICSWAP perpetual got hammered just as hard: -20.1% on Exchange28, -19.9% and -19.5% on Bitget, and another -19.5% on Exchange28. If you're keeping score, ESP and EPIC essentially mirrored each other in opposite directions overnight — a classic Asian micro-cap seesaw.

Zoom out and the session was net risk-off under the surface: 96 total events broke down to 22 pumps versus 44 dumps, and dump volume ($12.7M) nearly tripled pump volume ($4.5M). So while the headline movers grabbed attention, the broader tape leaned red. The one bright spot for the majors was that outsized BTC buy pressure — the market's biggest asset was the one getting accumulated hardest while smaller names got sold off.
